TIME ON FEET RUNNING

Some call it junk mileage. We call it time on feet...

Time on Feet - Running, the Lydiard way

Time on Feet believes that everyone has potential to be fitter and run better than they ever thought possible. . At Time on Feet the mission is to improve the fitness levels of all athletes from the beginner right through to the elite level. Our belief is the same as Lydiard in that 'champions are everywhere.'

Lydiard didn't hand pick a group of runners and take the cream of the available talent. He took a bunch of kids from his local area and produced Olympic champions. For us at Time on Feet this is the essence of a true coach - some one who can produce a crop using tailored programmes based on sound principles.

"Athletes need to enjoy their training. They don't enjoy going down to the track with a coach making them do repetitions until they're exhausted. From enjoyment comes the will to win." (Arthur Lydiard)

Time on Feet follows the principles of Lydiard training to reach peak performance. This is achieved by using a systematic approach to training. The emphasis is on conditioning in the early stages of a programme, in order to give the individual a feeling of a 'tireless state.' This is looked at as a crucial phase if achievements are to be made later.

" Trial and error will work but it could take years of effort when the answers could be found quickly by working with a coach."                                                                                                                                                        (Arthur Lydiard)
